METAMORA - The Metamora Township High School Band Boosters will host its annual Holiday Home Tour from 3:30 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 8. Four residents of the Metamora area will open their doors to anyone who chooses to support the high school band program while viewing these beautiful, festive homes. Two of them are older farm houses and the other two are grand old homes in town.
In addition to the home tours on Sunday, there will be several buildings open on the historic Metamora town square, including the Metamora State Historic Courthouse, which is dressed in its holiday finest. New to the town square and open for business is the Historic Grounds Coffee Shop & Bakery and the Hidden Barn Treasures Antiques.
Maps can be picked up at Historic Grounds, plus there will be bus service for anyone starting their tour there.
The proceeds will benefit the bands in many ways, including feeding them during workshops, providing new or used instruments, paying for technicians who help the musicians hone their skills, and bringing in college-level bands to perform with them.
Tickets are $10 per person and $25 for a family of four or more. They can be purchased in advance at Historic Grounds Coffee Shop & Bakery, Hidden Barn Treasures Antiques and the Metamora Courthouse, all on the Metamora town square, as well as at the MTHS front office. For more information, call 309-367-4151, ext. 570.
