EUREKA - Woodford County Home and Community Education members Elaine Hodel, Roanoke; Leslie Thomas, Carlock; Mary Schultz, Washington; and Sharon Hasler, Roanoke attended the 89th annual Illinois Association for Home and Community Education (IAHCE) Conference in Effingham, Illinois on March 13.

The theme for this year’s Conference was the “Many Hats of IAHCE”.  This 89th conference  saluted all those members who have so generously volunteered their time and energies to educate all persons in our communities and homes.

Through the years, the organization has changed with the current times, trends, or needs.  First known as Home Bureau Federation, then Homemakers Extension Association, and today known as Home and Community Education (HCE) it continues to provide unique inventive ideas and current and relevant information for monthly lessons to members throughout Illinois.

For more information on the Woodford County Home and Community Education organization, call Helen Heinz, membership chairman in Metamora at 367-4481 or Elaine Hodel, program chairman, in Roanoke at 923-7552.
