EUREKA – Eureka College biology professor Mike Toliver will speak about his experiences as a soldier in the Vietnam War at 2 PM, Feb. 4 in Becker Auditorium in the Cerf Center at Eureka College. The presentation is part of the college’s International Relations Class. It is open to the public. The free presentation will examine the decisions of U.S. leaders that led to the United States’ involvement in Vietnam and the consequences of those decisions for the country and for those who experienced the war. It will include photographs and music of the era. “Dr. Toliver has presented his very moving and heartfelt story to students in political science classes at Eureka College over the past 20 years,” said political science professor Wesley Phelan. “Over that time, many area high school teachers have brought students to experience the presentation, and now we also want to invite the public to come hear about this important time in our nation’s history.” For more information, contact Phelan at (309) 467-6409 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
