EUREKA –The Heart of Illinois Wind Quintet will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 in McCallister Hall in the Chapel at Eureka College.

The program will include “Flower Duet” from the 1883 French opera “Lakme” by Leo Delibes, “Wind Quintet No. 1” by Gordon Jacob, “Renaissance Suite” transcribed by Ronald Roseman from five Renaissance works and “Wind Quintet No. l, “ an 18th century work by Peter Muller.
The program also will feature “Three Trifles,” which includes a tango, pastorale and badinage, by Marvin Carlton. Carlton, who teaches music at Hamilton County Sr. High School in McLeansboro, is a friend and college roommate of Heart of Illinois Wind Quintet bassoonist Grant Gillett.
Other quintet members are Nancy Gillett, oboe; Sherril Diepenbrock, clarinet; Randi Lancaster, flute; and Phillip Lancaster, horn.
