EUREKA – The 3rd annual Cynthia Atterbury Piano Duet Recital will be at 4 p.m. Feb. 19 in McCallister Hall in the Chapel at Eureka College. It is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.

Ten Eureka College students, alumni and faculty members will perform on a Vose and Sons 7-foot grand piano that was donated by Eureka College Trustee R. Rennie Atterbury III. The gift was made in memory of Atterbury’s wife, Cynthia Goldsmith Atterbury, who owned the piano. It was constructed in Boston in 1911. It has been rebuilt and is encased in the original fruitwood cabinetry.
The recital will include works for two pianos and four hands utilizing the Vose and Sons piano and a Steinway concert grand piano. It will feature works by Claude Debussy, Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Francis Poulenc, George Gershwin, Moritz Moszkowski and Camille Saint-Saens.
The recital is sponsored by the Division of Fine and Performing Arts and the Music Department. For more information, contact Eureka College music professor Pamela Bates at (309) 467-6398 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
