By Carla Neggers (MIRA Books, 1999)

Penelope Chestnut is one of those irrepressible types who make good heroines in mystery novels. While lost in the mountains of New Hampshire near her home, she discovers the remains of an airplane that crashed 41 years before. Soon she is involved in a web of perilous events that

get more snarled as the book progresses. Eventually she unravels the mystery and finds love to boot.
I never did figure out what the title meant, and I was a little put off by the names chosen for the main characters, Penelope and Wyatt. I kept thinking the book was a little too unbelievable, but couldn’t stop reading it, all 376 pages. All in all, it was a pretty good mystery and it earned the Good Clean Book seal of approval.
