Angie’s Barber Shop (201 West Center Street, Suite B, Eureka) is having an anniversary celebration on Saturday, February 18, from 8:00 AM to noon to celebrate her twenty-three years of owning her own business in Eureka.

Angie has been at her current location over five years and just under 18 years in three locations at Lakeview. Angie has several people working with her; Theresa has been with her 18 years, Amanda and Morgan for a year.
Angie’s Barber Shop is not just a place to get a haircut. She has always been like a bartender for nondrinkers. Angie not only knows when to listen and when to comment, but she knows what to say, as well as what not to say. She deserves an award, if only for putting up with me for 23 years - and yet she still lets me in her shop.
Face painting will be available for kids of all ages. Cake, cookies and punch will be available and haircuts will be discounted to $8. Angie may have loyal customers, but she also has lots of loyal friends!
I keep asking when the Senior Citizen discount kicks in. She looks at me, and says, “For you, never.”
I imagine that has something to do with some of the comments I’ve made while getting a haircut. Her little, “Oops!” when she is cutting my hair is also the reason I always wear a cap - I know, what a revoltin’ development that is!
