The holiday season is in full swing in Bloomington-Normal and there are plenty of events going on throughout the month to put you in the holiday spirit.

The David Davis Mansion in downtown Bloomington will be hosting two special Christmas events at the Mansions Tours on Saturday December 14th from 2 pm till 5 pm, and 5 pm till 8pm. The tour takes people not only through the David Davis Mansion, but two other places as well.

“The Ewing Manor, The David Davis Mansion, and a Mystery Mansion will all be decorated with Christmas decorations for the tour.” Cindy Brand, a David Davis Mansion Staff Member, explained. “Every year there’s a mystery house in town, either a private home, business, or historic building, that is decorated, which you get to go through as part of the special tour. People won't know until the night of the event where it is.”

The proceeds generated from the Christmas at the Mansions Tour will benefit the preservation and educational programs of the David Davis Mansion State Historic Site and the Ewing Manor, as well as a charitable organization designated by the owner of the Mystery Mansion.

Those who can’t make it to the special Christmas at the Mansions Tour event, but want to see The David Davis Mansion decorated in Christmas decorations are in luck.

“The whole mansion will be decorated starting Friday (November 29th) through new years, so people can tour and see the Christmas decorations throughout the month.” Cindy Brand, Staff Member at the David Davis Mansion, said.
