This fine recipe only uses one mixing pan and the baking pan.
2 C flour
½ t salt
¼ t soda
1 t cinnamon
¼ t cloves
½ C butter or margarine
1 C brown sugar
½ C dairy sour cream
1 t vanilla
1 egg
½ C chopped walnuts
1 C chopped dates
Sift dry ingredients onto a piece of waxed paper. Melt butter in medium sized saucepan over moderate heat. Remove from heat. Add sugar and beat with a whisk. Beat in sour cream, egg and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients, dates and nuts. Spread in 15x10x1” pan. Bake in a 350° oven for 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack. Cut when cool in diamond shapes.
