Latin musicians Joan Sebastian and Ramón Ayala have had to cancel a U.S. leg of their concert tour including their concert Friday, Sept. 13 at Aurora's RiverEdge Park.
Replacing the duo is Alfredo Bojorquez ("El Puma de Sinaloa"), a traditional Mexican singer who has embraced his career singing at mainly jaripeos performing on horses and singing traditional Mexican corridos to romantic ballads.
Also performing is Paquita La Del Barrio (a songstress from the barrio), Mexico's popular ranchera music star, with an edge!
She represents musically the feminine point of view for relationships.
Tickets are $30 in advance; $35 at the door; $75 Sky Deck, which includes food, drinks and the concert.
The RiverEdge box office is currently contacting all Sebastian/Ayala ticket buyers to arrange refunds or offer exchanges into the Paquita concert.
Ticket holders are also welcome to contact the RiverEdge Park box office, (630) 896-6666, or stop by the nearby Paramount Theatre, the satellite box office for RiverEdge, located at 23 E. Galena Boulevard, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
The RiverEdge box office is also open onsite any day that RiverEdge is hosting a concert or event this summer, starting at 10 a.m.
"Joan and Ramón were our first big concerts for the Hispanic community at RiverEdge, and it was also the kick off to the Fiestas Patrias Festival at the Park for the following two days," said RiverEdge Park President & CEO Tim Rater. "We didn't want to let everyone down by just canceling the concert all together. We got a lot of input from partners in the Hispanic community about potential shows and we were lucky enough to get Paquita as the headliner and El Puma to start the evening. It's going to be a great night."
The concert kicks off Aurora's Fiestas Patrias Festival, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14-15 at RiverEdge, the new home for the Fox Valley's premier outdoor celebration of Mexican culture.
The two-day festival features a variety of international music acts, folklorico dancing, exhibit booths and food vendors.
