North Aurora resident Floyd Hoffman, above, celebrated his 94th birthday by sharing successful aging tips with Aurora University students Feb. 1.

Seated center is student Matt Stanczak of Oswego. Hoffman regularly visits gerontology classes led by John Lloyd of North Aurora, AU associate professor of biology, and Hoffman's neighbor. AU students brought refreshments, decorated the classroom with blue balloons and blue and white (school colors) crepe-paper streamers and sang "Happy Birthday" to Hoffman.
