Eureka Library Sponsoring Caregiving Workshop: Burden or Opportunity?
Eureka – The Eureka Public Library announces the sixth in a series of free workshops for area seniors. The Caregiving Workshop will be held Thursday, May 8, 2008, from 9-11 a.m. at the Library, 202 S. Main St., Eureka. The Eureka Public Library, partnering with the University of Illinois Extension Woodford County office will present information on caring for a dependent adult. The workshop will focus on the struggle to meet the immediate needs of the care receiver and the strong emotions associated with the caring experience. The program will be presented by Rachel Schwarzendruber who is a Family Life Educator. Schwarzendruber has co-authored several books, including Caregiving Relationships for People Who Care for Adults. Funding for this workshop was awarded by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a Division of the Office of the Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), under the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
